How to play Texas Hold'em Poker
Texas Hold'em is played with a standard 52-card deck by 2 to 8 players. Each player receives 2 private hole cards, and 5 community cards are dealt face up in the middle across three stages. Your goal is to make the best 5-card poker hand using any combination of your two hole cards and the five community cards—or convince everyone else to fold before showdown.
- Blinds and Preflop: The two players to the left of the dealer button (D) post the small blind (SB) and big blind (BB). Everyone is dealt 2 hole cards and the first betting round begins.
- The Flop: Three community cards are dealt face up in the centre of the table, followed by a second betting round.
- The Turn: A fourth community card is dealt face up, followed by a third betting round.
- The River and Showdown: The fifth and final community card is dealt. After the final betting round, remaining players reveal their hands and the strongest 5-card hand wins the pot.
